THE HOLY BIBLE. IS IT A MYTH OR REALITY?

The Holy Bible

Is it a Myth O' Reality?

Let's talk about it. First of all, let me tell you this. I'm not writing this to dishonor or criticize the religion Christianity. I just want to write about my opinion regarding the Holy Bible. I love the Holy Bible. I read it and always keep it with me even though I, personally do not accept the stories written in the Holy Bible. But I do respect it.

Let me show you why I say the content of the Holy Bible is a myth.

1. The time it was written.

The Holy Bible consists of stories about the creation of the world and life. We all know that the world was formed 4.54 billion years ago. According to the church, the holy bible is about 2700 years old. As you all see there's a huge difference between the time Earth was created and the time the holy bible was written. So obviously we can see that the bible was written long after the Earth was formed. Now I have this question in my mind. How can the author of the bible know something which has happened a long time ago before his birth?

2. Who wrote the bible?

Some say it is been written by the famous religious leader Mosses. But, it is not proved yet. And there is no clear evidence of the author. This is one of the major issues of the bible. You might not understand it like this, so let me explain this matter a little bit more.

You have heard and read a lot of fairy tales and folk tales right? About half-humans and half-demons, fairies, gods, demons, talking animals, etc. Obviously, you don't believe those right? You only read it and enjoy it. Why? Because you obviously know that they are just some created stories by some people even though it is coming from generation to generation for a long time. The things in those stories are not quite acceptable as well as reliable. You don't know whether those incidents actually happened or not. The same thing goes here. You don't know whether the stories in the bible actually happened or not. No one could prove it. And also when there is no clear evidence about who wrote it, how can we say it's true?

3. No proof found

As I said, no proof has been found regarding the incidents written in the bible. Usually, archaeological proofs are the main sources used by archeologists to confirm things written in historical documents. The case here is there are no archeological sources to prove the stories written in the bible are true. Only the church and the priests believe it actually happened. How can we say the bible is reliable when there are no proofs to prove it?

4. The vast difference between the bible stories and the proven scientific theories

The Holy Bible consists of stories about the creation of the world and life. The problem here is, according to the scientists the Earth has formed 4.54 billion years ago and humans have evolved 5 million to 7 million years ago. We all know that it is an accepted fact among scientists and people around the world. According to the scientists' theory, there's a huge gap between the time Earth was created and the time humans were evolved. Here, according to the bible it all happened in milliseconds as the god wished, which is quite hard to believe. Such a massive creation like Earth created in such a small time? UNBELIEVABLE!

5. Contradiction of stories in the bible with other historical documents

There are many, but here I will mention only a few. The first one is the year Jesus was born. One says Jesus was born in 1st A.D and the other one says 4-6 B.C. How could this possibly happen? The same person can't bear twice, right? We all know that A.D years started after Jesus was born.

The other one is

Conclusion

Even though I gave many reasons above to say the stories in the bible are a myth, it is still arguable. Here, I didn't bring all the arguments, but after considering the above arguments I can say it is not reliable. But, as I said, it is still arguable so we can't come to a conclusion by considering only a few arguments. Whether believing it or not is still up to you.

As Christians, I know some of you all have to believe it, but still, you can argue about it right? You have a right to choose the right and reject the wrong. You have to understand this, doubting the bible doesn't mean you are doubting the god. God didn't write the bible. I clearly stated that the author of the bible is doubtful and it is not proved. Some say it is written by the Mosses but some say it isn't. In a situation like this doubting, the bible isn't wrong. We all know during the renaissance time there were some corrupted priests. So, perhaps they have added some things to it. We never know.

As I said, you clearly have a right to choose the right and reject the wrong. You have a right to doubt. Doubting the holy bible doesn't mean you are doubting the god. So you should think more regarding this matter. Anyways, the decision is up to you.

  2. "Doubting the bible doesn't mean you are doubting the god" I like that phrase. To be honest I'm not a Christian but I have read the bible more than once. All the religions, ethnic groups, countries have a set of stories or books which are actually myths (folk stories). I don't understand why can't they take the bible as such a thing. Why do they have to believe it from the bottom of their hearts?

  4. Not everything in the bible is true, but there are some things we need to accept. None of those scientists were born when the Earth was created. And the time errors, all of us know that it was written 2700 years ago. So how can we expect something like accurate timing from the folks who lived in those days? Even I do not accept everything in the bible as truth but we can't deny everything either. Anyways, I honestly respect your opinion. The only problem here is we can't judge something when we don't know the full story.
